The Blowfish pipe shape is very unusual. We can only find it at workshops where craftspeople propose handmade pipes, like at the brand Kristiansen (in Italy) or Tsuge (in Japan). The blowfish pipe distinguishes itself by its specific structure and a very precise grain. First of all, we can find a bowl made out of two imposing facets (one on each side, not necessarily symmetrical and parallel) and a bent stem. When it comes to the briar, only the most beautiful plateaus are used because Blowfish pipes must have birdseyes on both lateral panels. In short, a real Blowfish pipe is of a "cross grain" type. Did you know? The English word "blowfish" refers to the fish (with a balloon shape). The latter has its body covered of pikes, and can inflate its cheeks to defend itself against other marine predators. Like the fish that has the same name, Blowfish pipes have not yet finished to stir your curiosity and the one of your smoker friends!
