Bulldog

The Haiti shape, also called Bulldog, is a well-known silhouette for pipe smokers. It is also certainly one of the most representative pipe made in France, and has been made for several decades already. Visually, the Haiti pipe shape easily distinguishes itself thanks to its rounded bowl coupled with a square shank. It is actually there that all the difficulty of creating a Haiti pipe lies: craftspeople must succeed in the creation of a fluid transition between the bowl and the shank. An other important particularity: the bowl is decorated with 2 characteristic grooves. The latter create a boundary between the upper and the lower part of the bowl, and are always located at the end of the first superior third of it. When it comes to the grip, the pipe is perfect because your thumb comes naturally against the shank in a comfortable manner (the shank can be straight or curved depending on the models). We tend to mistake the Haiti/Bulldog pipes for the Rhodesian or the Bullmoose pipes, because they look a lot like each other. The latter have, however, a round shank (and not 4 well-defined faces). On www.pipeshop-saintclaude.com, you will inevitably find your next pipe among our large range of products of Jeantet, Ropp, Eole, Peterson, Dunhill and even Terminus!
