L'Anatra pipes are made in Italy by Massimo Palazzi and Andrea Pascucci. The two craftsmen use briar wood from the Southern Italian region of Calabria. According to them, this Italian briar is the best raw material in the world. It is lighter and has a better-looking grain than the one coming from other regions. Their brand's full name is "L'Anatra dalle Uova d'Oro" (literally, "The Golden-Egged Duck"). Their creations are handmade, making them all unique. All L'Anatra pipes come with an acrylic stem and are classified according to an egg-scale (from 1 to 3). Among these, exceptional pieces are labeled "Fiammata", "Nirvana" or "Gigante".
