Rhodesian

Among less-known pipe shapes to the public, the Rhodesian is one of them. We can actually mistake it with the Bulldog shape (also known as Haiti). These two pipes have a rounded bowl and another characteristic : one or two horizontal slots carved in the material (whether it is briar, meerschaum or morta for example). This slot separates the upper part of the bowl from the lower part, and makes the pipe very elegant, even more that craftspeople use it to create a different finish (light/dark) between the top and the bottom. The main difference between the Rhodesian and the Haiti is the shape of the shank: a Rhodesian pipe will have a round shank, unlike the Haiti, which will have a square shank.
