The brand "Ser Jacopo dalla Gemma" was created in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi (who had founded the Mastro de Paja company a few years prior). Ser Jacopo pipes are made in Italy from very high-quality briar wood. Their elegant shape is reflective of the company's know-how acquired over time. The brand's motto is "Per Aspera Ad Astra", literally "it is only by working hard that one can pretend to reach for the stars". Each Ser Jacopo pipe is ranked according to its finish (smooth, sandblasted or rusticated) and the briar's quality. Mastro Geppettos are the brand's entry-level pipes, whereas the Gem line is made of high-end pipes entirely handmade (and adorned with real gemstones!)...
