The Italian craftsman Tommaso Spanu has devoted most of his life in pipe making. He indeed created his company in 1979, and produced beautiful pipes until his death in 2015. Tom Spanu will forever be a very famous pipe maker in his field, because he was one of the first to use Sardinian "Erica Scoparia" briar (an exceptional briar really sweet to smoke). He was actually the only pipe maker in the world who grew, harvested and conditioned his own briar! Mr Spanu was a true artist. For him, no pipe was to be imagined before it was being made. It is only by working the wood little by little that someone can let his imagination speak, and therefore create a unique piece.
