Tsuge The Four Seasons pipes
In Japan, Tsuge must be the benchmark brand when talking about pipes. Kyoichiro Tsuge, founder of the firm, actually always wanted to be the best in his field and to aim for excellence. Nowadays, each Tsuge pipe is worked to the smallest detail so that a perfect pipe is proposed. On our online shop www.pipeshop-saintclaude.com, you can find Tsuge's classic pipe series ("The Roulette", "The System" or the "Tokyo" collections for example), but also less known collections like pipes of the "Four seasons" presented on this webpage. Launched in the early 2000s, Tsuge's Four Seasons pipe collection (called "Shiki" in Japanese) was designed to celebrate the four seasons (spring, summer, fall and winter). Each Tsuge Shiki pipe has a unique design that recalls the season it represents (in spring, for example, you can see a cherry blossom, or sakura). The production of these pipes is extremely limited, explaining why these models are true collectors' items. Pipes of this collection are indeed finished with the famous Japanese lacquer of great quality called "Urushi". Putting this special lacquer on pipes requires a specific know-how: craftspeople have to put a first layer of lacquer, and then wait until it is completely dry before adding another layer and so on. The Japanese company also explains that making these pipes requires a lot of other steps, and some models took more than a year and a half to be completed. Smokers agree to say that this is not a simple pipe with a band made of brass, but an artwork entirely handmade. Our team of La Pipe Rit is proud to be able to present you some of these rare pipes. Did you know that Tsuge also proposes pipe tobaccos? Even if they are not available in France, we chose to talk about them since some of those high-end tobaccos will be perfect to smoke with pipes of this collection. You will therefore find: "First Days of Spring", "Summer Daydream", "The Mystery of Autumn" and "Winter's Embrace".
