Vauen Patina pipes
Where does the name Vauen come from? It is actually the first letters of the words Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken (V is pronounced [faʊ]) and the word Nuremberg (N is pronounced [ɛn]), the town in which the factory is located. The brand always had the same ambition: Vauen wants to propose products so that smokers can enjoy their free time. Over the years, Vauen continued to create new pipes with different styles for pipe smokers. The Patina collection that we present you on this webpage proposes something new since it does not look like the pipes you have seen before. The materials used for the creation of these pipes are larch wood and briar. Stunning, isn't it? Vauen Patina pipes can actually be smoked like any other pipe since larch wood is only used to decorate the pipe, and you will therefore smoke in a briar bowl. Most of the time used to make boats or house frames, larch wood has the specificity to be time resistant and rot-proof. To create this look, Vauen has made a precise sandblasting and then applied a shade (of a light, dark or blue color) on the wood thanks to a special treatment. We can therefore see an unparalleled association of textures and colors. Because of the natural properties of larch wood, each model will have a unique grain. The grooves of the wood will therefore slightly differ (and may be more profound and more spaced out) depending on the models.
